GTA 3 REVIEW
I kind of reviewed this once when I played it round a
friends house then reviewed it when I actually had bought it. So it's in two parts....
There are not many games that you can make a concise
opinion on when you have only played them for several hours. However this is definitely
one of them.
I played it for three hours today for the first time. I've been wanting to play this game
for oh so long. If like me you thought the pictures looked good wait till you see this.
It is just the most detailed game I have ever laid my eyes on. It feels like you are in a
city. It's a huge city, with weather, traffic filled streets, pedestrians walking down the
roads. It's beautiful. The lighting is amazing. Nothing can prepare you for the amazement
you will see when you see this games visuals. The city is perfect. What an environment.
Sadly within ten minutes the beautiful city has been turned into mayhem with pedestrians
fleeing for their lives, the road is full of police cars, FBI helecopters are hovering
overhead, pedestrians are now no more than bloody messes on the floor and cars are burning
brightly all around. A man is holding some uzis and is battling with armed policemen. This
doesn't happen in real life but it happens in GTA3 and it happens again and again and
again as this game is so addictive.
Nothing can prepare you for the entertainment this game gives you whether it's kicking
some man constantly in the stomach infront of dozens of people and continuing it after he
has lost his consciousness, nothing can prepare you for the joys as you shoot down a
helecopter with a bazooka, or create a line of dead pedestrians as you drive along the
street trigger happy.
I may have played this game only for three hours but I know a good game when I see one.
The aiming was difficult at times like in the other GTA games and the camera angles were a
bit shoddy. But in terms of gameplay this game comes out top.
I'm certainly getting a PS2 now that's all I'm saying....
Rating: 94% Brilliant stuff let down by camera angles and aiming but I'm sure with time
you can get used to this game.
----------------------------------------------------------------
There are not many games you review twice. Usually for
most normal games once is enough, you make some good points about why you like it, then
let it be. However GTA 3 is not a normal game and the conditions in which I based my
review on in the first time were completely different to the situation I am in now.
You see I have now got my very own copy of GTA 3. It cost me £260 as I had to buy all the
extras for it (like the memory card and oh mustn't forget that PS2 you need to play it).
So I'm now poor. Yet to be honest I don't really care.
When I played it the first time I knew it was a good game. Nothing is better than starring
in your very own crime film. It is exciting to be chased by police cars and fun to be able
to roam some streets doing stuff you would never consider of doing in normal life. It's an
escape from reality where you engage yourself in thrilling adventures ranging from
assassinations to hectic car chases.
The main thing I never got to play when I played it the first time were the missions and
the missions really do make things a lot more fun. Sure it's just as fun to do what you
want but this game features missions I get so engaged in that my heart races as I'm
getting shot at and trying to bundle myself into a car to escape a near certain death.
There is so much depth to this game. Three islands, around a hundred different cars I'd
like to hazard a guess (there are even boats!), there are many missions and even a story.
The game kicks the first GTAs butts with compelling missions that are just much more fun.
If there was ever a reason to get a PS2 the time is now. Trust me if GTA3 never came out
on the PS2 I would never have got one. And with it I could never have been happy. GTA3 is
worth every penny of your money. Do anything you must to get hold of this game it's
without certain the PS2 game of this year.
Rating: 97% It only gets better when you own the actual game
